1. CANON EFS 17-55MM 1:2.8 IS USM LENS
I bought this lens to go with my CANON 50D BODY but have since upgraded to the 7D Body which is a great camera. Though expensive, this lens produces high quality photos and can achieve excellent background blur shots. I have also used this lens for shooting video and the quality is excellent. It takes a fair amount of skill to shoot video as it's sometimes hard to see the focus using the LCD screen but when in focus the images are very professional. I highly recommend this lens.
The built in flash cannot cope with this lens and its hood for indoor shots; you end up with a dark shadow at the bottom of the picture; this can be frustrating as I do not yet own an external flash. I use this lens for outdoor shots and stage productions (try to get up really close to the performers to get superb quality).  Another lens I have recently purchased is the PRIME EF 85mm which gave me some superb shots on the 7D at a recent wedding.
Look out for some examples on this page later.
